The sweetest native sedum growing east of the Mississippi, Sedum ternatum is the only native Sedum found throughout eastern and part of mid-western North America. Also known as Woodland stonecrop, this native Sedum forms dense evergreen mats of small, blue-green glaucus leaves. In mid-spring, an array of starry, white flowers arch out above and around the leaves. They can be found growing in floodplain woodlands, and perfer full to partial shade, in moist habitats.
