Fun Facts: This birch is the larval host of the Luna moth and Eastern swallowtail. First Nations People used birch wood for snowshoes and stretched bark to cover canoes and structures. 

Good to Know: The paper birch is the iconic white-barked tree that we often picture when we hear "birch." These trees are relatively fast-growing, but are considered a short-lived species. They rarely live longer than 150 years.
