Bee Winter Patty

These food patties are formulated for winter feeding, with a lower percentage of pollen than "pollen patties."

Once temperatures are cold and bees have clustered, we like to place several of these patties on top of the frames (using a shim for spacing) so that the bees have a food source should they eat through their stored honey.

These patties are particularly useful in late winter/early spring as colonies are becoming more active and eating through their remaining honey stores.
