2025 Honeybee Nucleus Colony
This listing is for SPRING 2025 nucleus colonies. Pickup late April/early May, dates TDB.
5+ frame honeybee nucleus colony, including mated queen.
We recommend that new beekeepers begin their adventure by purchasing a nucleus colony, or a "nuc." A nuc is, in simplest terms, a small, portable working colony. This colony is installed into your hive in your apiary and can continue working immediately. The nuc consists of a laying queen, two to three frames with brood in all stages from eggs to hatching workers, two frames of honey and pollen stores.
INCLUDED WITH YOUR PURCHASE:
Healthy, personally inspected colonies. We have worked with several apiaries over the years and have found beekeepers who produce healthy, quality bees. Each and every nucleus colony that we sell is inspected by us before leaving the property so that we can be certain you are getting a quality colony of honeybees. We are dedicated beekeepers and we take the responsibility seriously when sending new colonies out into the world.
Free Instructional Class for Beginners. We offer a live nuc installation demonstration and hive inspection class on the morning of pick-up. We’ll head back to the apiary (with our protective gear on!) and install a nuc into a hive together.
Continuing access to support. We will do our best to walk you through the first year of keeping bees by offering classes and walk-in store hours. We always have a beekeeper on site to answer questions or help you find products you need. We are also available to you all the time via email.

All bee orders are non-refundable, and cannot be guaranteed once they leave our care.
You MUST pickup your bees on the designated day. We understand that this can be difficult as pickup day is a moving target, but it is critical to the health of your colony that they are picked up and installed in a timely manner.
If you or your business are tax exempt please call or email BEFORE you place your order so we can set up your account. The web site will automatically charge sales tax and once done this cannot be reversed.
