Art Class - Flower Pounding
June 26th | 6:00 pm
We're thrilled to welcome Tami back to our beautiful space this summer. This always proves to be a magical night under the shade of the pergola in our perennial area!
Make art and support the bees for National Pollinators Month! Discover the art of using natural pigments through flower power in the courtyard at Masterson's Nursery for Flower Pounding. Use ornamental and native flowers plucked right from their gardens to create botanical prints while learning how to express natural dye compounds found in the petals and stems of flowering plants and vines. Students will learn basic natural dyeing methods before choosing their plants, imprinting onto pre-mordanted muslin for an organically "dyed" tapestry piece that will stay vibrant long after the snow comes back.
